TOP CODE ENFORCEMENT ISSUES YOU NEED TO KNOW

Associa HRW provides our neighborhood with monthly code enforcement inspections. You may receive a notice to correct a code issue on your property. But you can be proactive by making sure the following are in good shape. Just remember, these are the top ones we see - you are still responsible for meeting all covenants and standards, even if they are not listed here.

1. Lawn care – regularly (usually weekly or bi-weekly during the growing season) mow lawn and edge all curbs, walks, and drives. Remove weeds in mulch beds and concrete. Remove weed saplings and debris (via blower). Trim shrubs/trees as needed. Keep beds mulched. If you are unable to do this, please hire a landscaping service.

2. Park vehicles in drive or in garage, not on street. Also, no commercial/work or other industrial type vehicles are allowed to be parked or stored on premises or in street. Parking on the lawn is also prohibited – this kills grass, creates ruts and can increase runoff/infill into the stormwater pond.

3. Boats, trailers, campers and other such types of vehicles should be parked in a garage or area screened from the street and adjoining Lot view and approved by the Architectural Control Committee. In no case shall recreation vehicle parking be allowed in front of or beside a house unless adequately screened from view of the street and adjoining Lots. No inoperative or abandoned vehicle, or any type, shall be parked or stored on any Lot or on the streets in the development.

4. Waste and recycle bins are to be stored in the garage or behind the front line of your home and screened.

5. Keep wood trim, windows, siding, lighting, etc. in good shape via regular maintenance, including painting/replacing.

6. Power wash your roof, siding, and walks/drives to remove mold and residual buildup.

7. Keep your mailbox clean, painted, and in working condition.

8. Container plants visible from the street are limited to 10 maximum and must be placed in a decorative container. 5 Gallon buckets, plain nursery buckets are not allowed.

9. Keep all areas of your home that are visible from the street, in clean and proper condition. Yards, porches, drives, etc. are not for storage old furniture, appliances, construction equipment, etc.

10. Fences, color changes, additions, certain tree removals require ARB approval first. Be sure to fill out the form and return to Associa HRW to start the process.

Governing Documents: Forms & Documents

Covenants are the governing documents that apply to all Association households. This gives general policy guidelines for Member households and Associa HRW but also gives the Board of Directors the authority and discretion to administer the business and interests of the Ashley Woods Association. This includes the power to determine what is aesthetically pleasing for the neighborhood and necessary to maintain its character. The Architectural Standards and Specifications also serve to guide member households, the board, and Associa HRW.
